The Moody Owners Association UK
The Moody Owners Association UK (MOA UK) is committed to the exchange of information among Moody owners. The MOA represents all Moody owners. It works closely together with marina operators and the manufacturer.
The association has four local branches throughout the UK. It is a non-profit organisation whose main purpose it is to provide an information exchange platform to its members. The MOA UK invites each owner to become a member to benefit from the wealth of information and activities it has to offer.
The Moody Owners Association UK offers a wide array of benefits to its members. These include a well-attended Annual General Meeting and an outstanding website, to which members are invited to contribute.
The Annual General Meeting is the association’s general business meeting, where members get together to exchange ideas. Moody owners take an active interest in the activities and the organisation of their association. Each year, the new management board is elected at the AGM. Each member has a vote. In addition to addressing business matters, the association also tries to make it fun by scheduling interesting speakers and creating a social program that has something to offer for everybody.
The homepage illustrates the purpose of the association, i.e. representing the interests of its members. It has information on current events and everything surrounding yachting and the sea. Owners can contact other members, access the technical library, get weather information, find relating links, or subscribe to the association’s magazine “Compass”.
The heart of the website is the discussion board area. Each registered user can access this information exchange and tap into the wealth of information posted by other owners. Interactivity is very popular. You do not have to be a Moody owner either to post and read messages. A simple registration is all you need.
The discussion boards are subdivided into different topics providing a variety of information on Moody yachts. Members may also post For Sale / Wanted ads on the site. And don’t forget to check out the topics ‘port information’ and ‘MedLink/Cruising’.
MOA UK’s members receive the association’s Compass magazine, published three times a year. Each edition is full of useful information, technical advice, and interesting stories. The magazine does not just keep owners up-to-date, it is also fun to read.
The more than 60 pages include the Commodore’s column, letters to the editor, information on competitions, technical pages, notes from local and international branches, and cruising reports. Inspiring photographs complete the package.
